We want to enable our guests to completely disconnect in the heart of unspoilt nature. We want to encourage people to spend more time outdoors and try different activities. Golte is one of the most popular mountain resorts in Slovenia, located in the heart of the Savinjska Valley. In winter, Golte is a real paradise for skiers, as it offers more than 12 kilometers of varied ski tracks, while in summer it is a popular spot for lovers of hiking, cycling and admiring the beautiful nature. The landscape is characteristically karst, it was created in the past, when the Golte Mountains were torn away from the Savinja Alps. It is said that they were formed by the extinct volcano Smrekovec, which is located nearby. Today, typical karst phenomena such as deep chasms, sinkholes and caves can be observed in Golte. Among the more recognizable is the Ledenica cave, in which snow is preserved throughout the year and therefore once served as a natural cooler for the shepherds in Golte.
In the summer months, the hiking trails in Golte invite you to walk along them and enjoy the fresh air and wonderful views. The path around Golte is a circular path that takes you past many cultural and natural attractions in two and a half hours. It is suitable for experienced and inexperienced hikers, because despite the longer route, you only make a 400 m height difference. At the end of the walk, don't forget to stop at Mozirska koča and try one of the local specialties. The Golte Plateau in itself offers you a lot of possibilities for exploring and spending your free time actively. However, there are many other corners hidden nearby that are also worth a visit. In Mozir, don't miss a visit to the beautiful Mozir grove, which will delight you with its plants throughout the year, and with its lights at New Year's. You can also visit the Topolšica spa and relax in the pools.
